And We're Up!

Little could I have imagined a month ago that I would be in the middle or organizing an event for our fellow community members to engage with candidates running in local elections.

I've got to admit...this is pretty exciting stuff.

The idea as actually a passing suggestion which piqued my interest. When I shopped the idea to a group of new acquaintances, it received with great interest. I was really jazzed when two others volunteered to help organize.

Since then we have selected our list of candidates, procured a venue, invited candidates (still inviting that is...), and built both a Facebook and web page. All in a matter of a month. Not too shabby if you ask me.

I hope you're as interested in this as we are. Local elections can be tough for voters. Unless you're active in the civic process, it is difficult to get information on the candidates and/or their positions. That's what this event is about. We want to give you, the voters, the opportunity to talk, one-on-one, to the candidates. We believe this will help you make a much more informed decision while casting your vote.

Come back here often to follow our progress. We will post which candidates will attending, and tips for getting prepared for the event. I hope to post referendums which will be on the ballot in our community. If anyone has an inside scoop on referendums, then drop us a line. We'd appreciate the help!
